i found some live yoghurt but its 5 days out of date. I wont be eating it its just using it ‘down there’ is it ok to use?

Just received first injection yesterday of prostart and feel like i have thrush. Just wondering if anyone could give me some advice. i will call my doctor tomorrow but information today would be good.
That should not affect the IVF treatment. For what it’s worth, Fluconazole didn’t get rid of my thrush, but Grapefruit Seed Extract did. You can get it in pill or liquid form and it is a very powerful natural anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-viral and antiparasitic.

So I have been pretty crook lately – was on a course of prednisone and antibiotics a two months ago.
I noticed a white coating on my tongue and burning sensation, went to the doctor who said it was thrush probably caused by the antibiotics – she sent me of to the chemist and i picked up some DAKTARIN oral gel 40gs.
My problem is, I use this stuff the prescribed half a teaspoon 4 times a day –
YET – the next morning I have the white tongue coating again!
Am i doing somthing wrong?

The particular strain of yeast you have could be resistant to the miconazole (Daktarin). Some yeast can be resistant, it’s not abnormal, more and more resistance emerges all the time. It is nothing you did. You were doing a great job!
You will need to go back to doctor (or maybe even just call him) and tell him the Daktarin does not work. There are other options for you. You could try nystatin. It is a sweet tasting oral suspension. In all my years as a microbiologist, I have never seen nystatin NOT work. It could happen, but it’s very rare. Any more ?’s feel free to email me. Take care.

Sounds like normal yeast infection.
Look for OTC products…there are 2-3 dosage treatments available that are pretty good.
Hi, I have a problem with recurring thrush, I have seen the GP over this but all she did was give me another single pessary. I get the symptoms every month, 2 weeks before my period. I think the symptoms are related to me being on the pill, as I have only noticed it since I went on the pill (microgynon). Does anyone know if changing it would do me any good? I do have an appointment with the nurse next week, and im hoping she will help me more than the doctor did.
Also I think im starting wit reoccurance now, should i take fluconazole now, or wait for the infection to start fully before I take anything?
Its starting to really get to me, I need to sort this out.
Any advice/personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

hello i got thrush after going on microgynon and i used homeopathic remedies
they cleared it up in a couple of days
or yogurt is a good natural one… stay off antibiotics though this makes it worse usualyy

is there any way i can get rid of thrush without taking medication or tablets or creams? or do i have to go to the doctor? if i go to the doctor do i actually have to show it to them?

I’m gonna assume your are British – and you are referring to a vaginal yeast infection – We do not call it "Thrush" in the States. Yes – you do need medication – you can get OTC meds like Monistat. Use as directed – and hopefully that will cure it – if it reoccurs – see your Dr.for something stronger. Yeast Infections have several possible causes – all of which result in the change of the Ph of the vaginal secretions. This (usually Alkaline) Ph offers a wonderful breeding ground for bacteria. Changes in Ph occur when something gets "off" in the body (not just the vagina) -like too much sweets or alcohol (colas, candy, etc), stress, not enough water (dehydration), antibiotics (which "kill" the good bacteria) – and other causes.
Douching with vinegar-based solution may help- as well as eating yogurt or something like Activia.

Indeed it can be an annoying side effect of inhaled steroids. In future the risk can be minimised rinsing the mouth out thoroughly after using the inhaler.
