Do you always get the same symptoms with yeast infections?

I have had a yeast infection before that cleared up with OTC meds. I was on antibiotics for a UTI about a week ago, and the Dr. said it may cause a yeast infection. Now I’m experiencing itching and burning, but no odor and a thick, yellowish discharge. I think it might be a yeast infection, but when I had one before I had the typical cottage cheese-like discharge, and this is different. Also, can you treat a yeast infection while having your period?

If it’s a yeast infection it may clear up just after your period. Since your body is having a period, I wouldn’t recommend inserting medication until after your period is over.

Different types of infections:

Signs of yeast infections:
White, cottage cheese-like discharge
Swelling and pain around the vulva
Intense itching

Signs of bacterial vaginosis:
A white, gray or yellowish vaginal discharge
A fishy odor that is strongest after sex or after washing with soap
Itching or burning
Slight redness and swelling of the vagina or vulva

No, you don’t always get the same symptoms. I’ve had a yeast infection where the only symptom was itching/burning. I’m not sure about using yeast infection treatment while on your period, but I’m sure the instructions that come with it will tell you if it’s okay or not.

Every single time I get a yeast infection it’s different — I have one right now actually, and I’m not discharging, only burning. You absolutely don’t always get the same symptoms. Trust yourself! Antibiotics are the worst, they almost always give me yeast infections.

You can treat a yeast infection on your period with Monistat, but don’t use tampons because it will remove the medication. Use pads and try to avoid washing your vagina with antibacterial soap.

no! you do not get always the same symptoms!

and yes – it looks like you have yeast infection!

and if you have yeast infection then you must get rid of it as soon as it is possible!!!

if you really want to get rid of yeast infection forever then you must follow these tips:

    1) Eat yogurt!!!! It contains helpful bacteria (live cultures, including acidophilus and bifidus) that destroy yeast. Use only plain yogurt with active cultures.

    2) Douche with a solution of 1 to 3 tbsp. vinegar in a quart of water. Repeat once a day while having symptoms, but no longer than a week.

    3) Decrease or eliminate sugar and sugary foods. Sugar promotes yeast growth.

    4) Use a garlic clove as a suppository. Garlic contains a natural anti-fungal agent.

    5) Try gentian violet. It’s a traditional remedy for yeast and other infections, and can be found in pharmacies. Swab the area with it once or twice a day. Make sure to use a thick pad – it stains everything.

    6) Use an herbal douche. Combine equal amounts of sage, raspberry and comfrey with 1/4 part goldenseal. This can be combined with cider vinegar.

    7) You must use herbal treatment. In that case Yeastrol is really good (probably the best) product that gets rid of yeast infection comparatively fast and makes you feel more confident knowing that it wont reappear again!
And of course it is better if you use full course (5 months – if I remember correctly). For me it worked very fast + I dont get yeast infections anymore…

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Yeastrol but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.yeastrol.com/?aid=221781

    good luck!
